Silk In the Wind Earrings

Silk In the Wind Earrings

These earrings feature a surface that was created by pulling an impression directly from special fabric- the golden silk curtain which opened the very first performance of the Met Opera at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

The quest was to make sterling silver look like fabric, so we put some silk up on a clothesline and watched it blow in the wind to determine what the form would be. When the rough idea was formed, we then worked the silver to make it look effortless.   Designed to wear every day, these lightweight, comfortable, yet visible earrings are hallmarked 'MetOpera" to let the curious know that they really are something special.
